The Importance Of Power

The importance of Power  in the life of the Christian.

I believe it is high time we all recognize the importance this virtue as a necessity in our walk with God, because everything in this present dispensation respond to power. That's why the Holy Spirit has to inspired Paul in his letter to the Christians in Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 4:20 which reads: For the kingdom of Got is not in word, but in power.

Permit me to say this, that a powerless Christian is a matterless type. What is matter? Matter is anything that has weight and occupy space. And Jesus said unto them, saying; Occupy till I come. So when a Christian is powerless, he/she is also matterless, spaceless and would soon be useless, why? Because matterless objects are always weightless, just like balloon in the air which direction has to be determined by the intensity of the wind. So most Christians who are matterless through powerlessness are always controlled by other powers, and as a matter of fact, most events of their lives is being determined by these powers.

Why Do We Need This Power?

Firstly, we must understand that all power belong to God. Psalms 62:11 and that every other powers in the  world which is being flaunted, or perhaps, let me use the word demonstrated by the kingdoms of darkness today, was delegated to them for service by God in the beginning before iniquity was found in him (Satan and his cohorts) Isaiah 14:12-17; Revelation 12:3-4; 7-9. However, that not withstanding God is still God over every created thing, both visible and invincible, both in Heaven on high, or on Earth below, or in the Sea beneath, God is still the maker and the owner of them all. Psalms 24:1-2

There are  many obvious reasons today why the Christians needs the power of God, but lets take a look at some of the reasons.

We need the power of God to;

1. To witness For Christ Jesus: Acts 1:8

Witnessing for Christ Jesus without the power would only result to the overexertion of the flesh, and also fruitless labour. Before Jesus sent the disciples out in Matthew 10:1 he first gave them power over every other powers in the world, and when they returned they testify of their fantastic experience because of the availability of the power of God. So to witness for Christ, you first need the power in order to be Effective and fruitful.

2. To Be In Control Of Self: Romans 7: 14-25

Many Christians are ignorant of the devices of the devil, that's why majority of us will come up with new year, or new moons resolutions of the do and don't of the year, but to their amazement before the first quarter of that year they've already violated the rules in their resolution, why? Because of the negative influencing powers warring against their will, and are overcome through powerlessness. It is the will and wish of God for all his children to prosper spiritually, mentally, morally, psychologically, financially, and in all the endeavor of the Christian life, but our adversary the devil would naturally not let these be, but through the demonstration of the power of God, he'll be left with no other option that to leave for a season. Power!

3. To Have Dominion: Psalms 66:3 make us to understand that God's enemies submitted unto him, not through words, not through certificate, not through connection, but through power. No devil will ever submit to any Christian without power. As a matter of fact, the very reason Jesus gave us power in Luke 10:19 is because of our warfare and welfare against the powers of darkness. That's why many Christians are suffering attacks they have failed to activate that power for use.

Without much words, we need power to do everything, including to make wealth, live right etc.

But note that this godly power will never be activated in your life, if you're not born again. John 1:12 said; But as many as received him, to them gave he power... So you have to give your life to Jesus by accepting him as your Lord and personal savior, before you can be given access to this tremendous power of God.
